Pope Tawadros: Inauguration of “Kom Maria” project in Mallawi important addition to Minya

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, said that “Kom Maria” project had been a dream for the people of Mallawi and has now become a tangible reality.He stressed that the project represents an important addition to the governorate and contributes to reviving the Holy Family Trail, with its religious, historical and cultural significance.

He made the remarks while attending the inauguration of the first phase of the Kom Maria project in Mallawi, Minya, one of the sites along Egypt’s Holy Family Trail.

The ceremony was attended by Minya Governor Emad Kedwani and Bishop Demetrius, Bishop of the Diocese of Mallawi and Ansina.

Pope Tawadros expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for providing an example in consolidating the values of citizenship and ensuring that he serves as a president for all Egyptians.

For his part, Kedwani praised the national and community role of the Egyptian Church, headed by Pope Tawadros II, describing it as an active partner in development efforts across various sectors, particularly healthcare.He noted the contribution of church-affiliated institutions to supporting the governorate’s healthcare system through three major hospitals including Misr Al-Mahabba Hospital in Beni Mazar, Al-Ragaa Hospital in Abu Qurqas, and Al-Raai Al-Saleh Hospital in Samalout. The three hospitals have been accredited in preparation for joining the Universal Health Insurance System.
