Coronation Street star Ben Price reveals real-life thief drama

Translate

Coronation Street star Ben Price has revealed a real-life thief drama that he endured on his street. The Nick Tilsley actor opened up about the ordeal to co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith on their podcast On the Sofa.

The star recalled that someone on his street's group chat shared that a car had been broken into in the last week, before various residents sent forward their doorbell camera footage of the suspected thief prowling the road around his home in Bath.

"They managed to put all this camera [footage] together," he said. "Someone did a brilliant editing job and followed this person [down the street]. But before it, all the way up the road, [he] checked every car. They went in some people’s gardens. They cut every Ring doorbell bit of footage together in one big film."

However, Ben said that things got more nervous for him when the apparent thief got closer to his home.

"Then they start to go down our road. I think the camera footage [showed] he stopped by ours… You’ve got cameras higher up…" he said.

"So they’ve fused them all together and they followed him. I think they caught him."

He added: "Someone went, ‘Oh, don’t worry. I’ll get the footage together. I’ll put it together.’ They put it in a group in a little movie. I was like, ‘Oh, this one’s impressive.’ Someone went, ‘Oh, don’t worry. I might do some credits.'"

Ben admitted that there was nothing of value in the cars, and while he was fortunate this time, he also revealed a past incident when his car and motorbike was stolen.

Meanwhile, last year Ben opened up about the special role he played as groomsman at Jack's wedding when the latter tied the knot to Hanni Treweek last July.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
