In the week ending Oct. 15, “Choosin’ Texas” earned 19.8 million chart-eligible streams in the United States, down 5% from the previous period (Oct. 2-8), according to Luminate.

The song first reigned on the tally dated Jan. 31 and led the list for multiple stints since, its longest an eight-week run between Aug. 15 and Oct. 3.

“Choosin’ Texas” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” are two of just three songs to rule Streaming Songs for 20 or more weeks since the ranking’s 2013 inception; in addition, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, reigned for 20 frames.

While Langley may be able to attain sole possession of the longevity record by the end of the month (barring other challengers), it won’t be smooth sailing for her claim on the feat just yet; Carey generally adds to her count each holiday season, including four weeks at No. 1 amid the 2025 season.

The 19.8 million count for “Choosin’ Texas” toward the Oct. 24 tally is the first time the most-streamed song in the U.S. logged fewer than 20 million listens in a tracking week since the Feb. 7 chart, when Harry Styles’ “Aperture” debuted at No. 1 with 18.2 million streams.

Concurrently, as previously reported, “Choosin’ Texas” holds at No. 2 on the multimetric Billboard Hot 100 behind Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero.”
