KJH Sarawak Segulai Sejalai draws over 350,000 visitors

MIRI: Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026 drew more than 350,000 visitors over its three-day run, surpassing the initial target of 300,000.

The turnout included visitors from outside Sarawak, including Brunei, as well as those from Miri.

Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the strong response demonstrated the carnival's appeal among locals and visitors from outside the state.

"The ministry hopes strategic collaborations such as this can be continued and strengthened in the future," he said.

He said the success of the event also paved the way for similar programmes to be held in Miri again, with a more diverse and engaging line-up to attract more visitors.

"Besides entertainment, programmes like this can generate income for the local community while driving the tourism sector.

"We can organise similar events in the future with more programmes and activities that are engaging," he said.

KJH Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026 was held at Miri Boulevard, featuring family activities, cultural performances, sports, exhibitions, entrepreneur booths and concerts by popular artistes.

The carnival returned to Miri after 19 years, bringing together more than 160 booths involving entrepreneurs and government agencies.
