Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan visit Durga Puja pandal; veteran acteess shares warm hug with Kajol as Nysa, Yug join in

On Saturday, the sixth day of Durga Puja (Shashti), the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal drew a number of well-known faces. Jaya Bachchan stopped by with her daughter Shweta Bachchan, and Kajol’s children, Nysa and Yug, also came to offer their prayers and take blessings.

Jaya Bachchan hugs Kajol and Tanishaa

Social media has been buzzing with visuals from the pandal. Jaya Bachchan turned up in an elegant off-white saree, with Shweta by her side. The veteran actor shared an affectionate hug with Kajol and her sister Tanishaa, then gathered with Kajol, Ayan Mukerji (Kajol’s cousin and a filmmaker) and a few others for photographs.Jaya is a regular at the Durga Puja pandal hosted by the Mukerji family in North Mumbai. Rani Mukerji, Kajol’s cousin and a Bollywood actor, also makes it a point to attend each year.

This time, though, she has yet to be seen at the festivities, as she lost her mother, Krishna Mukerji, in September.

Kajol poses with Nysa and Yug in festive looks

Kajol stood alongside Nysa and Yug for a picture before the idol of Maa Durga, and a tender moment between her and her son drew plenty of attention from fans. She dressed in a mustard-yellow saree with orange tones and an ornate zari border, teamed with a gold-toned striped blouse and gold jhumkas to finish the traditional look.

Nysa went for a graceful powder-blue silk saree, while Yug kept it simple in a light blue and white kurta-pyjama.

Tanishaa urges media to maintain decorum at pandal

At a press conference in Mumbai a few days before Durga Puja began, Tanishaa appealed to the media and the public to behave responsibly at the pandal. “There’s going to be a lot more footfall, so I definitely request everybody in the media and the public to please take care of each other. Don’t forget that there is humanity.

Don’t forget that there is humanity because a lot of people push, especially to go to the pandal and all, so just be careful and take care of each other,” she said.In a lighthearted tone, Tanishaa also cautioned the paparazzi to go easy on Jaya Bachchan. “Don’t trouble our Jaya aunty this time. Y’all are troubling her a lot; please don’t trouble her. Aap log bahut badmash ho, kuch aapke photographers joh purposely jaa ke chabi lagate hai. Mat karo humari Puja mein please,” she said, adding that a few photographers intentionally provoke Jaya, and requesting that they refrain from doing so during the celebrations.
