Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes’ house in England was burgled on Wednesday evening while the Portuguese midfielder was away in Italy for his team’s UEFA Champions League match against Como.
Cheshire Police confirmed that an investigation had been launched after three unidentified men were reportedly spotted in the rear garden of a neighbouring property at around 8:30 PM. (Local Time).
Officers arrived at the location following a report of suspicious activity but found that the suspects had already left. Further checks revealed that Fernandes’ home had been broken into and several items stolen.

Manchester United said on Thursday that Fernandes’ family was not at home when the incident occurred.
According to the club, the intruders were inside the property for less than five minutes before police arrived.
United added that it was providing support to Fernandes and his family while requesting that their privacy be respected.
The incident came on a difficult evening for the 32-year-old midfielder, whose side suffered a 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League.
Fernandes started the match and was substituted in the 67th minute as Michael Carrick’s struggling team endured another disappointing result.
