2027: Tampolo movement donates 50 vehicles for Tinubu

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, founded and convened by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has launched its Kano State structure as part of its grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The movement also donated 50 branded vehicles to support its mobilisation activities across Kano’s 44 local government areas.

The vehicles were presented on Sunday at the Government House, Kano, during the official unveiling of the movement’s state structure, attended by APC leaders, government officials, lawmakers, traditional and religious leaders and supporters.

Representing Tompolo at the event, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, said the movement would take its campaign directly to voters through structures established at the grassroots.

“The plan is that every door will be knocked, every home will be knocked, so that people will give their massive support to Mr President,” Guwor said.

He added that the movement would establish structures across the country and deploy coordinators at the ward and polling-unit levels to engage residents ahead of the election.

Guwor, who is also the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, said the movement was mobilising support for Tinubu based on what he described as the administration’s economic reforms and infrastructure projects.

“A lot has been done, and you can see that he’s very bold with his economic reforms. Good things attract people,” he stressed.

The Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria cited the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms and infrastructure projects, including the Kano rail project and the rehabilitation of the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport as some of the achievements of the Tinubu administrative in the state.

The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, who received the vehicles, described the donation as a demonstration of Tompolo’s support for the APC and Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“These vehicles being presented today will be deployed to support our political structures and groups across the state as we prepare for the 2027 general elections,” Yusuf said.

The governor also urged political stakeholders, particularly in the North, to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term, arguing that presidential power should return to the North after the South completes an eight-year cycle.

Yusuf also called for peaceful and issue-based campaigns, urging political parties to focus on their records, policies and development plans rather than personal attacks.

“This year’s campaign should be issue-based. What do you have for the good people of the state? What have you done for them?” he advised.

Our correspondent reports that the launch marks the latest expansion of the Door-to-Door Movement’s grassroots campaign structure as political groups intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. The movement has previously launched structures and distributed campaign vehicles in Katsina and Borno states.
