A$AP Rocky kicked off the rollout of his Don’t Be Dumb – Disc 2 deluxe on Friday (Oct. 16) with “Shroom Clouds,” and three days later, a trippy visual has arrived for the dreamy single.
Rocky helmed the clip alongside Aisultan Seitov and Pietro Biz Biasia. The Harlem native’s hallucinations take him above the clouds to a smoker’s paradise.
Known for his bold fashion choices, Rocky dons a yellow fur hat in the company of a few beautiful women, exchanging pleasantries during a picnic and lying out in the middle of the grassy fields.
After taking another drag and passing the blunt off to someone’s grandma, Rocky transports back to the Big Apple’s concrete jungle.
Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that next to the A$AP Yams mural was a police car crashed into a wall, but the NYPD vehicle was emblazoned with an Oct. 30 decal on the side panel, which could be Rocky’s way of hinting at Disc 2‘s release date. Billboard reached out to Rocky’s reps for further details about the release date.
“Disc 2 is all of the songs that I dropped that those alter egos didn’t get an album to live on, because the next chapter is right after that,” Rocky teased in an October interview with Billboard.
“Shroom Clouds” has origins dating back to 2021, when Rocky performed the track — which was originally titled “Mushroom Clouds” — at a 420 Weedmaps event and Governors Ball. He brought the ethereal song back for his set at Amazon Music Live in 2022.
Rocky’s first album in nearly eight years, Don’t Be Dumb was released in January and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 123,000 total album-equivalent units, which also served as the 38-year-old’s first No. 1 in over a decade. He wrapped up the European leg of his Don’t Be Dumb World Tour on Oct. 11 and will be heading to New Zealand and Australia in December.
