In a statement by the uniaversity Registrar, Mr. Adeleke Alfanla, the varsity said that 20 Readers were promoted to the professorial level while 31 Senior Lecturers were upgraded to the position of Readers.
The statement also said that the promotion followed a recommendation from the university’s Appointments and Promotions Committee, which was presented to the Council meeting on Monday, January 27, 2025, by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole SAN.
Earlier in 2024, the school announced the promotion of 40 of its senior academics to the rank of professor.
The elevation, which was approved by the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman (SAN), was a sequel to the recommendations of the University Appointment and Promotion Committee.
