Game Of Thrones: The Kingswood Hunt Officially Announced

Game of Thrones fans have no shortage of iconic and unforgettable moments across the entirety of the franchise, from the heartbreaking betrayals at The Red Wedding to Daenerys Targaryen's fiery conquest of King's Landing and Jon Snow's showdown with the Night King. House of the Dragon has continued that tradition with its own variety of twists and devastating scenes, including Viserys Targaryen's final walk to the Iron Throne, Aemond claiming Vhagar, Aegon II's reunion with Sunfyre, and the brutal events surrounding Rook's Rest.

However, there's arguably no character with more memorable moments in the series than Viserys, with one of his most iconic scenes coming early in House of the Dragon. The Kingswood Hunt introduces the mysterious White Hart and gives Rhaenyra one of her most important experiences, and now, fans will be able to partake in the hunt for the legenadry white stag themselves in an upcoming release, available now in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is bringing one of House of the Dragon's most memorable symbols into the game with The Kingswood Hunt, a new limited-time event running from September 17 through September 23. Inspired by the White Stag encountered by Rhaenyra Targaryen during the royal hunt in Season 1, the event lets players track down and battle White Stag encounters scattered across the map.

The legendary creature has long been associated with destiny, prophecy, and royal succession in Westerosi lore, with its appearance before the young Rhaenyra carrying obvious implications about her claim to the Iron Throne. Dragonfire now puts players in the role of the hunter, with the event accessible through the Events panel by selecting The Kingswood.

Players earn points by defeating White Stag Encounters, with each hunt consuming Resolve, a special event energy resource that regenerates over time and can also be replenished daily using Gold. Unlike ordinary map encounters, White Stags can be attacked without owning an adjacent tile. Defeating one also does not award ownership of its tile, although the encounter will be removed and the space cleared for future use.

The White Stag comes equipped with its own event-specific ability, Crowned Decree, giving it a 35% chance to deal 125% Physical Damage to an enemy in the same lane. When the attack succeeds, there is also a 30% chance of Staggering the target for one round, making those antlers considerably more dangerous than they appear.

The Kingswood Hunt continues Dragonfire's tradition of rotating live events alongside its larger campaigns. The game is built around seasonal Reigns, generally lasting around eight weeks, while Campaigns and shorter Campaign Stages introduce changing objectives, modifiers, rewards, and story developments. Recent events have also tied directly into House of the Dragon, including the limited-time Season 3 celebration that temporarily brought previously released dragons back to the Hatchery.

There is even more House of the Dragon content immediately around the corner as well. On September 24, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is set to introduce Meleys: The Red Queen alongside The Dragon's Divide, the game’s newly announced third Campaign, giving players another major story arc to tackle immediately after the Kingswood Hunt concludes.
