Hollywood star Brad Pitt has been in the news for both, his personal and professional life. While he most recently launched his film 'Heart of the Beast', on the personal front, his children with Angelina Jolie, continue to hit the headlines over their decision to drop his surname.A source close to Pitt told the Daily Mail, "Pitt never had a drink problem, he had an Angelina problem."

Brad Pitt's friends claim Angelina Jolie was the 'problem'

Describing Pitt’s relationship with Jolie as having changed dramatically after their marriage in 2014, the source said, “They were happy for a while but when things went bad they went very, very bad.”The report further alleges that while the long divorce battle and settlement issues took their toll, it was the estrangement from his children that has been even more painful.

"The divorce from Angelina was bad, but the alienation from his children was the worst thing that ever happened to him. Now he's gone from pain and hurt to acceptance," the source told the portal.Pitt’s marriage to Jolie collapsed in 2016, reportedly after an incident aboard the family’s private jet during a flight from France to Los Angeles. Jolie subsequently made allegations of verbal and physical abuse against Pitt, including an allegation involving one of their children.

Pitt, however, denied the allegations. The FBI investigated the incident, but no criminal charges were filed.The person acknowledged that while Pitt had struggled with alcohol during that period, they disputed the allegations against him. “Did Pitt go through a period where he drank too much? Yes. But did he do what he was accused of? No.”

Pitt and Jolie share six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.

Their relationship with their father has remained a sensitive and largely private issue amid years of legal disputes between the former couple. Five of the six have now dropped his last name, with no word about Pax dropping the surname.As per the report, people close to Pitt claim he continues to hope for reconciliation with his children. One associate alleged that Jolie had engaged in “a prolonged campaign of parental alienation”, a claim Jolie disputes.

She has maintained that the children’s decisions regarding their relationship with their father are their own.

Brad Pitt drinking again

The actor has previously spoken about attending Alcoholics Anonymous and maintaining sobriety for years. In an interview with Esquire earlier this year, Pitt revealed that he had started drinking agai. “I can have a few but I can't have a lot. I have to be professional about it. I got over-confident a couple times, went, yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities.”He also explained why he values keeping his drinking under control, saying, “You can miss a lovely morning when you drink too much the night before.”
