Gianluigi Donnarumma’s heroics earned him praise from both the French and Italian media following Friday’s 1-1 Nations League draw between the two countries at the Stade de France, and we want to know if you think the Manchester City stopper is currently the best no.1 in world football.
Donnarumma was voted as Italy’s man of the match in the post-match ratings following Friday’s 1-1 draw away against France after a series of top-class saves that kept the Azzurri alive while they were under pressure from Zinedine Zidane’s side.

French newspapers suggested that it could have been an entirely different outcome had the former Milan man not been in the Italian goal.
Outlets in Italy, meanwhile, have been celebrating Donnarumma’s performance, and La Gazzetta dello Sport have even ranked him as the no.1 goalkeeper in the world in a Top 10 list that was compiled on Saturday.
The Gazzetta dello Sport ranking, which is focused on current form, is as follows:
- Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City/Italy)
- Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid/Belgium)
- Unai Simon (Athletic Club/Spain)
- David Raya (Arsenal/Spain)
- Mike Maignan (Milan/France)
- Mile Svilar (Roma/Belgium)
- Joan Garcia (Barcelona/Spain)
- Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid/Slovenia)
- Gregory Kobel (Borussia Dortmund/Switzerland)
- Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich/Germany)
