BP Tapera promotes subsidized home loans for young workers

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) is encouraging young workers to purchase their first homes through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), a government-subsidized housing financing program.
“This program can address current challenges, particularly those faced by young workers,” BP Tapera Deputy Commissioner for Fund Utilization Sid Herdi Kusuma said in a statement on Saturday.
Kusuma highlighted several challenges young workers face when trying to buy their first homes, including rising property prices, high interest rates, and substantial down payment requirements.
To address these barriers, BP Tapera provides subsidized housing loans, known as KPR, through the FLPP program. The initiative is expected to expand public access to homeownership.
Meanwhile, Mochamad Yut Penta, consumer banking director at state-owned Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN), said the bank supports the distribution of subsidized housing through a financing scheme with fixed monthly installments.
The scheme is expected to help young workers plan their finances with greater certainty when purchasing their first homes.
"Installment certainty is one of our strengths in subsidized housing financing," Penta said.
BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho encouraged people who do not yet own homes, including eligible young people, to take advantage of the FLPP program.
According to Nugroho, preliminary data on program realization as of September 4, 2026, showed that the largest group of beneficiaries was aged 19 to 25, placing them in Generation Z.
He said the figures indicated that young people were becoming more aware of the importance of planning for homeownership early and were increasingly willing to take steps toward achieving it.
Nugroho added that a first home was more than just a place to live. It was also an important part of building a better future with one's family.
