Strictly Come Dancing pro makes surprise pitch to join Lawrence Robb in Emmerdale

A Strictly Come Dancing pro has proposed a new storyline for Emmerdale's Lawrence Robb. The soap star, known for his role as Mackenzie Boyd, has temporarily stepped away from the Dales for the glitz and glamour of the ballroom.

Of course, the soap has explained his absence from the show as a trip to Germany; however, his dance partner Jowita Przystał has already cooked up some potential juicy storylines for his return.

Queen of Soaps Sharon Marshall shared a video on her Instagram where Przystał made a pitch to the Emmerdale writers, which would involve her appearing as Robb's long-lost sister in a shocking affair plot.

"You went to Germany to find out that actually I am your sister," she said. "Your mother had a massive affair, that's why you're like that. That's why he has an affair because he's doing the same as his father did."

The dancer then suggests that Mackenzie meets his sister in Germany, which leads him to bring her back to the UK, but things wouldn't be smooth sailing as she'd plan to "ruin his life because you abandoned her".

Marshall was very sold on the idea and even added her own twist: "Yes, I like that. And she removes all the buttons from his shirt!"

While Lawrence didn't say anything on the proposed plotline, he did have a good laugh about it, as Marshall added: "We're gonna send it straight to Emmerdale now."

In her caption, she made a direct message to Emmerdale's Instagram page, writing: "@emmerdale! We have a pitch for you! I asked @jowitaprzystal and @lawrencejarobb just what Mackenzie might be up to in Germany... and if there might just be a role for someone."

In his exit scenes, it is revealed that the reason behind Mackenzie's visit to Germany was because he is going on a course to learn about farming equipment.

However, Robb revealed that there was an "unscripted" moment that gave a small nod to his Strictly appearance, which involved a small shimmy.

While he intended it to be a joke, he said he didn't expect it to make the final cut, telling This Morning hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: "Everyone knew that I was going to Strictly so the whole cast and crew knew I was doing it by that point, so it was kind of a little joke."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
