Kaizer Chiefs expected starting XI against TS Galaxy

Kaizer Chiefs will face TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup on Tuesday evening as they look to bounce back from their CAF Confederation Cup exit at the hands of Red Arrows.
Head coach Fernando da Cruz is under pressure, and a victory could ease the growing concerns surrounding his position at the club. Another defeat would increase the pressure on the Frenchman and could put his future in doubt.
With the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates coming up this weekend, Da Cruz could buy himself more time with a positive result against TS Galaxy and a strong performance against their arch-rivals.
Here is how Kaizer Chiefs can lineup against TS Galaxy
Brandon Petersen could return to the starting lineup if he is fit, particularly with the Soweto Derby looming. The goalkeeper could be given an opportunity to feature ahead of the crucial clash against Pirates.
However, Da Cruz could also opt to retain Bruce Bvuma between the posts, although Petersen’s potential return cannot be ruled out.
In defence, Miguel Inacio and Thabo Moloisane are expected to form the centre-back partnership, with Reeve Frosler and Bradley Cross occupying the full-back positions.
Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Lebohang Maboe could anchor the midfield as Chiefs look to establish control and provide a solid platform for their attacking players.
In terms of attack, Kaizer Chiefs could experiment with a combination of Mduduzi Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi as they look to put TS Galaxy to sword.
Asanele Velebayi is another player who could feature on the wing, while Flavio Silva is expected to lead the line.
Chiefs will be eager to respond after their continental disappointment, knowing that a place in the next round of the Carling Knockout Cup would provide a timely boost ahead of the Soweto Derby.
Kaizer Chiefs’ predicted lineup against TS Galaxy: Brandon Petersen; Reeve Frosler, Miguel Inacio, Thabo Moloisane, Bradley Cross; Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Lebohang Maboe; Asanele Velebayi, Mduduzi Shabalala, Mfundo Vilakazi; Flavio Silva.
