Trade Expo Indonesia opens with US$13.2 billion MoUs signing: Minister

Banten (ANTARA) - Indonesian exporters are set to sign 168 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth a total of US$13.2 billion with prospective buyers from 22 countries at the opening of the 2026 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) on Wednesday, Trade Minister Budi Santoso said.
“Today, 168 MoUs will be signed between exporters and buyers from 22 countries, with a total value of US$13.2 billion,” he said at the opening of the 2026 TEI at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in Tangerang, Banten.
Santoso said the MoU signings were facilitated by Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs) and trade attachés overseas, who continued to engage with prospective buyers.
The 2026 TEI aims to generate US$17.5 billion in transactions, with 1,873 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors expected to attend.
The minister said 16,885 buyers had registered for the expo, including 8,092 international buyers from 134 countries.
“The products showcased at TEI range from food and beverages, agricultural commodities, manufactured goods, fashion and handicrafts to furniture, home decor, and industrial products aimed at attracting investors,” he said.
The Trade Ministry will also honor exporters and regional leaders who have contributed to national export performance through the Primaniyarta Awards.
In addition, the ministry will present Primaduta Awards to international partners, members of the Indonesian diaspora, and heads of Indonesian representative offices who have actively promoted Indonesian products.
“We also recognize universities that record the highest transaction values during TEI through the Campuspreneur Award,” Santoso said.
The 2026 TEI is being held from October 14 to 18 at ICE BSD in Tangerang, Banten. At the previous year's expo, potential transactions reached US$22.83 billion, with 1,619 exhibitors, 8,045 buyers, and 34,550 visitors.
