Motorcyclist jailed after filming himself riding at 189mph and goading police into pursuits

A motorcyclist who filmed himself travelling at speeds up to 189mph while attempting to provoke police officers into high-speed chases has been jailed.
Amin Belechguer, 29, received a four-year custodial sentence at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday following convictions on 21 counts of dangerous driving, Kent Police confirmed.
According to the force, Belechguer, who lives in Poynders Gardens in Clapham, London, carried out a "catalogue of dangerous driving offences" and attempted "to goad police into high-speed pursuits".
Officers first observed him riding an unplated, high-powered Kawasaki Ninja H2R motorcycle at speed along the A20 Ashford Road heading towards Maidstone at roughly 10.45pm on June 27 2025.
Police were travelling to an unrelated emergency with active emergency lights and sirens when Belechguer pulled ahead of them and "began slowing and waved at the officers to goad them into a pursuit".
The police constables followed Belechguer for a brief period, officers said.

During that time, Belechguer reached speeds in excess of 130mph along a single-carriageway road where speed limits varied between 40-60mph, crossing over solid white lines into oncoming traffic across the blind brow of a hill.
Pursuing officers aborted the chase due to safety risks and requested assistance further along the route.
Police deployed a stinger device further down the road, which punctured Belechguer's tyres as he rode over it. Forced to bring the motorcycle to a halt, he tried to evade capture by fleeing into roadside bushes, but officers intercepted and arrested him.
The vehicle, which Belechguer had bought for approximately £19,500, was impounded at the scene alongside his mobile phone and GoPro camera.
A subsequent examination of his digital devices revealed that from July 7 2024, Belechguer had recorded himself riding across Kent, London and Essex at maximum speeds reaching 189mph.
The recovered video footage showed him driving at more than double the permitted speed limit on motorways and through urban centres, as well as carrying out dangerous manoeuvres such as undertakings and wheelies.
Further recordings captured him running red lights, racing other motorists at car gatherings, and riding along pavements and pedestrian crossings.
The collection of clips also contained the final journey leading directly to his apprehension. Beside his prison term, a forfeiture order was granted for Belechguer's bike to be permanently confiscated, and he will face a 10-year driving ban following his release.
Investigating officer Pc Daniel Goodman said: "Officers worked swiftly when presented with the opportunity to arrest a dangerous motorist.
"Despite having to terminate a pursuit due to the dangerousness of Belechguer’s driving, teamwork saw his vehicle brought to a stop and secured his arrest.
"Not only did Belechguer drive at triple the speed limit in some instances, but he demonstrated little regard of basic road safety when he failed to adhere to road markings, signage, and traffic lights.
"Throughout the investigation, Belechguer showed no remorse for the fact he placed his life and the lives of other road users at risk on numerous occasions.
"This prison sentence, the confiscation of his bike and a long driving ban will keep other motorists safe for some time to come."
