2027: Osun APC rallies electorate for candidates, says current hardship temporary

The leadership of All Progressives Congress in Ijesa South Federal Constituency of Osun State has declared support for the the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu and rallied electorate for all candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.

The party made this known in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, issued after its meeting and signed by Kunle Odeyemi and
Femi Kujembola.

The APC subsequently declared support for the reelection bid of the two incumbent lawmakers representing Osun East in the Senate, and the member representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Francis Fadahunsi and Olusanya Omirin respectively.

It also charged electorate to support Timothy Owoeye, the party’s candidate for Ilesa East State Constituency, Babatunde Komolafe, the Atakumosa East and West State Constituency APC candidate, and Abayomi Ojo, the party’s candidate for the Ilesa West State Constituency.

Commenting on the state of the country’s economy, the party admitted that Nigeria may be passing through some difficulties arising from tough economic decisions of the President.

It however assured people that, in due time, the country will overcome all hardships.

The statement partly read further, “That the entire Leadership Of The Party in IJESA SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY hereby resolved and reaffirmed the confidence and unalloyed commitment of the leaders and members in the pedigree, character, competency, service delivery and experience of Senator Francis Adenigba FADAUNSI as the candidate of the Party for Senate.

“In the same irrevocably unanimous decision, the party resolved and reaffirmed their unreserved confidence in Hon. Olusanya Omirin for House of Representatives, and all its candidates listed below for the State Constituency Election. Rt. Hon. Timothy ADIGUN Owoeye for Ilesa East State Constituency, Babatunde Festus Komolafe for Atakumosa East and West State Constituency, and Hon. Abayomi Ojo for Ilesa West State Constituency.

“The Leadership of the party in its far reaching decision also resolved and reaffirmed their unreserved confidence in the economic reforms and administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his Running Mate, Vice President, Kassim Shettima.

“Though, we may be passing through some difficulties arising from tough economic decisions, we want to assure the people that, in due time, we shall overcome all the hardships.
The party therefore seeks passionately for massive support of the electorates in all the elections, as we also sue for peace, unity and harmony.”

It expressed confidence in the support and trust of the people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency, noting their continued desires to vote for APC as a patriotic decision and testimony that Ijesaland remains the hub of progressives in the state.

It reaffirmed commitment to continue to serve with the fear of God and respect for the dignity of the electorate.

The PUNCH earlier reported that the All Progressives Congress in the six local government areas of the Osun East Senatorial District’s Ijesa axis, rejected calls for the recall of the senator representing the district, Francis Fadahunsi, describing those behind the move as anti-APC elements.

The Director, Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the APC in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Akinyele Akintola, stated this in a statement obtained in Osogbo while reacting to a protest against Fadahunsi in Ilesa.

The six local government areas are Obokun, Oriade, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West.

Akintola alleged that Fadahunsi’s political opponents were behind the protest and warned stakeholders in the Osun East Senatorial District against actions capable of creating tension.
