Madoka Magica -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- Anime Film Screens in N. America on January 16-19
Aniplex of America and Fathom Entertainment revealed at New York Comic Con on Thursday that they will screen Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising (Gekijōban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten), the official sequel to the Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion film, in theaters in North America on January 16 to 19. The screenings will be available in both Japanese audio with English subtitles, as well as an English dub. Tickets go on sale on December 11.

In addition to the English version of the film's second key visual (seen above), Aniplex of America also unveiled an exclusive key visual for the film (seen below) by Australian artist Namie (Fate/Grand Order, Arknights).

In addition, Aniplex of America also revealed that it will release Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings, Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion in Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc with Dolby Atmos audio. The release will include exclusive new cover art by Junichirō Taniguchi, and will be available on October 15 on the Crunchyroll Store and MediaOCD store.


Additionally, the three films in the trilogy will additionally start streaming on Crunchyroll on November 8 and on Netflix on January 2. The movies will add Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese dubs on Crunchyroll on November 15.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising opened in theaters on August 28. The film got IMAX screenings in Japan on the same day it opened.
The film ranked at #1 in its opening weekend. The film sold 535,000 tickets and and earned 939,647,100 yen (about US$5.95 million) in its first three days.
Yukihiro Miyamoto (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, Arakawa Under the Bridge) directed the film.
Shion Wakayama voices the new magical girl Shichōka and Tomoyo Kurosawa voices Selma Therese. Maaya Sakamoto plays the unnamed upperclassman, or Wasu, who looks like Homura but nobody knows her true name or identity.
The returning cast includes:

- Kaori Mizuhashi as Mami Tomoe
- Eri Kitamura as Sayaka Miki
- Ai Nonaka as Kyōko Sakura

The anime film features a returning staff from the original anime series and films, including original creators Magica Quartet, chief director Akiyuki Simbo, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, original character designer Ume Aoki, animation character designer Junichirō Taniguchi, composer Yuki Kajiura, alternate space designer Gekidan Inu Curry, and animation studio SHAFT.
Yuki Kajiura's solo project FictionJunction performs the theme song "Kanata."
