World Aquatics on Wednesday announced Berlin, Paris and London as the host cities for the 2027 Swimming World Cup, which will also serve as a direct qualification pathway for six events at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

The three-leg competition will begin in Berlin from October 15 to 17, before moving to Paris from October 22 to 24. London will host the final leg from October 29 to 31.

Swimmers will have the opportunity to secure Olympic berths in the men’s and women’s 50m butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke, which will make their Olympic debut at LA28.

The men’s 50m backstroke and women’s 50m butterfly qualification places will be decided in Berlin, while Paris will host the qualifiers for the men’s 50m butterfly and women’s 50m breaststroke.

The remaining places will be determined at the London Aquatics Centre, where the men’s 50m breaststroke and women’s 50m backstroke events will serve as Olympic qualifiers.

World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam said the three cities’ sporting history and experience of hosting major international competitions made them suitable venues for determining qualification in the newly added Olympic events.
