Free Health Check-Up reach 40.88 percent of Thousand Islands residents

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Thousand Islands District Government has reported that the implementation of the Free Health Check-up (CKG) in this island region of Jakarta has reached 40.88 percent of the total target population.

"As of October 14, 2026, the progress of the CKG implementation has reached 40.88 percent," said the Head of the Thousand Islands Health Agency, Ghamal Ahmad Permana, in Jakarta on Saturday (Oct 17).

Permana explained that the achievement exceeds the three-month target, which was projected at 36 percent. "

Thankfully, we have managed to surpass the target," he said.

He noted that the Free Health Check-up (CKG) program is currently ongoing for all age groups, ranging from infants, toddlers, and school-aged children to adults and the elderly.

He added that the CKG initiative is integrated with routine health screenings for each age group, meaning the coverage data will continue to grow through the end of the year.

"We are continuously tracking the number of people who have utilized this health program," he stated.

Permana also highlighted a challenge encountered in the field: a relatively low level of public awareness, resulting in fewer people visiting community health centers (puskesmas) to participate in the program.

He urged health center staff to be proactive in conducting routine screenings for each age group and to offer the CKG program whenever residents visit the health centers for medical treatment.

"We also conduct community-based CKG activities, such as collaborating with tuberculosis (TB) screening efforts, where the data collected is directly linked to the CKG screening process," he explained.
