EgyptAir expands UK presence with 4 weekly direct flights between Cairo and Birmingham

Translate

Flag carrier EgyptAir has officially launched non-stop service between Cairo International Airport and Birmingham Airport, expanding its footprint in the United Kingdom as part of its newly inaugurated winter schedule.

Operating four times weekly—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—the route utilizes the carrier’s modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet. The addition makes Birmingham EgyptAir’s third UK destination, joining established daily operations to London Heathrow and Manchester.

Strategic bridge to the Midlands

The new connection serves two primary strategic goals: unlocking direct travel for the substantial Egyptian diaspora residing across the West Midlands, and serving Birmingham’s role as a major UK economic and industrial center.

By linking central England directly to Cairo, the route facilitates seamless one-stop connections across EgyptAir’s broader network spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

According to airline leadership, the expansion addresses rising commercial and leisure travel demand between Egypt and the UK, while offering regional UK passengers an efficient transit alternative through Cairo’s international hub.
