EXCLUSIVE: Here’s your first look at upcoming R-rated comedy Mini War, starring Luke Wilson, Vanessa Hudgens, and Nick Swardson .

Capture will be selling the film ahead of, and at, the American Film Market in ten days.

Reuniting creatives behind the 2006 comedy Grandma’s Boy, the film is directed by Joel David Moore (Avatar) from a screenplay by Swardson and Allen Covert.

Wilson plays Joe, “a laid-back stoner who unexpectedly inherits a miniature golf course from his late uncle. Hoping to sell the property while preserving his uncle’s legacy, Joe finds himself at odds with Darren (Swardson), the ambitious owner of a neighbouring go-kart track determined to bulldoze the course and expand his racing empire. What begins as a simple property dispute quickly spirals into an all-out neighbourhood war, drawing in a colourful cast of local characters, including Olivia (Hudgens), the owner of a hot-dog stand caught in the middle.”

The ensemble cast also includes Brett Gelman, Kevin Nealon, Rob Morgan, Dave Sheridan, Blake Anderson, John Farley, Nicholas Turturro and Morgan Kohan.

The film is produced by Jarod Einsohn (Here We Go Pictures) and Joel David Moore (Balcony 9), Limor Hakim of Level 1 Entertainment, Allen Covert, Nick Swardson, and Grandma’s Boy producers Bill Todman Jr. and Edward Milstein.

Capture is handling international sales and will present the film to buyers at AFM, taking place November 10–15, 2026, in Los Angeles.
