Pokémon Winds & Waves Drops New Official Look At Gen 10 Pokémon

Pokémon Winds and Waves aren't officially releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 until 2027, but The Pokémon Company has decided to tide us over (pun intended) with a new look at some of the latest Gen 10 monsters. Current rumors suggest there's no new info for Winds and Waves coming this year, which makes sense, given it's now October 2026, so this is a welcome treat.
Besides the starters of Gecqua, Browt, and Pombon, we haven't officially seen any of the new Pokémon planned for Winds and Waves. That has stopped a ton of leaks and rumors, mind you, including a Flying-type Eevee evolution (yes please) and the rumored Gen 10 box Legendaries.
While we probably won't see too much more of Winds & Waves until February 2027's Pokémon Day, we do have some fun new art of the Gen 10 starters, which gives us a much-needed new look at the latest trio of partner Pokémon. The latest designs come via Pokémon Air Adventures, the official airplanes with Pokémon on the aircraft. Some new designs were revealed for planes from ANA (All Nippon Airways) in Japan. While jets featuring the likenesses of Pikachu and Eevee have been around for ages now, these latest aircraft designs show off new looks for Gecqua, Browt, and Pombon. Centro Leaks on X provided screenshots, which you can also view below.

The new artwork doesn't really tell us anything we didn't already know about the Gen 10 starters, but we'll take what we can get. I would still die for Pombon, and Browt looks absolutely furious at the world. Considering Pokémon Winds and Waves don't release until next year, and more trailers aren't expected to arrive until 2027, I wouldn't hold your breath for much more than what we got here. Still, I'll take what I can get to help pass the time.
In the meantime, we know this will be the first mainline entry since 2025's Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and will kickstart Gen 10, introducing a new tropical archipelago to explore complete with multiple underwater areas, adorable Starter 'mon, and a rumored 300+ new additions to the Pokédex. By all accounts, this is shaping up to be the biggest Pokémon game in 30 years, which is very exciting.
As Pokémon's 30th anniversary year enters its final months, there's been a huge wave of new merch designed to pay tribute to three decades of the popular game, although scalpers have definitely left their mark on the occasion. The good news is that The Pokémon Company is attempting to take some kind of official action against scalpers, but will it be enough? We'll have to wait and see.
The next major Pokémon release in the meantime will probably be the rumored (and basically confirmed) Nintendo Switch ports of Ruby & Sapphire, which would be a great way to kill time until Winds & Waves.
