The Legend of Zelda arguably has more hype around it now than it has done in over a decade or more, as the 40th anniversary of the franchise brings in players old and new to revel in everything it has had to offer over the years. We'll all be playing the Ocarina of Time Remake in November as the culmination of those celebrations, but there's plenty more to look forward to besides that.

A big part of marking the occasion so far has been the sheer number of physical releases that have dropped for fans to add to their burgeoning collections. With more coning all the time, the latest of those has now been announced, and there's plenty of precedent to say it could be one of the best of the bunch.

As first reported by Nintendo Life, First4Figures has confirmed the upcoming release of a new 12" PVC statue of Princess Zelda's appearance in Tears of the Kingdom. With pre-orders set to go live on October 22, they have given us a few preview images of what fans can expect, and it's safe to say that it's considerably more detailed than you would usually expect from the material it's rendered in.

Zelda is holding a torch in the pastiche and her outfit has all the little bells and whistles that it does in the base game, while Purah Pad comes with a glow in the dark effect to give the figure some oomph in low light conditions. The base is also covered in the mystical script that features in the game, and that glows green in the dark to contrast the blue from the pad.

As they have done previously, we can likely expect several versions of this figure to release with the company, with minor differences in the posability and the items Zelda comes with.

If Link is more your speed, you can also pick up a similar figure featuring him that has plenty going on as well. In it, he stands ready for battle, with his left hand gripping King Rauru’s Right Arm, with the Master Sword on his back. There's also an exclusive edition of that which comes with LED light-up functions for the right arm and base, though that is considerably more expensive at $161.99.

Other than that, we also have the big-budget feature film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda to look forward to in April 2027. It will be interesting to see exactly where that slots into the wider lore and world of releases, though there is some talk that it will exist entirely in its own space and draw in elements of all the games from the series' history.
