Police to quiz former Negri Sembilan exco members
KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is expected to record statements from the 10 Negri Sembilan executive councillors whose appointments were revoked.
Their statements will be taken in Seremban today.
"An officer from Bukit Aman will travel to Negri Sembilan tomorrow (today). The former exco members are prepared to cooperate," a source told FMT.
The source, however, refused to divulge details but did not deny the possibility that it was linked to the state's constitutional crisis.
The Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, has revoked the appointments of members of the state executive council after they were found to have breached their oath of office.
The impasse in the state has been ongoing since April, when the Undang Yang Empat proclaimed the removal of Tuanku Muhriz as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim was reported to be among those who signed the proclamation, although he later claimed that he had done so under duress.
He maintained that the current exco line-up remains valid as the members were barred from entering the offices at Wisma Negeri last week.
