UCL: Lille Defender Ribeiro Vows To Stop Osimhen

Translate

Lille defender Alexsandro Ribeiro has expressed his excitement about facing Victor Osimhen when the French side host Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.

The two teams will clash at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in a matchday three fixture, with both sides seeking their first points in the competition after losing their opening two matches.

The encounter will also mark a return to familiar territory for Osimhen, who played for Lille during the 2019/2020 season before securing a high-profile move to Napoli.

Ribeiro Ready For Osimhen Test

Ribeiro acknowledged that facing the Nigerian striker would be a difficult challenge, describing the contest as a personal battle between the two players.

“Yes, I’ll be playing against Osimhen. It’s going to be a tough match for us. It will be a bit of a battle between the two of us,” the Brazilian told the media ahead of the encounter.

Injury Problems Over

The centre-back also expressed satisfaction with his progress this season after struggling with injuries last year.

“I’m back on the pitch. It feels great. My injury last year was different; I couldn’t play many games. I’m showing good progress this season, and I want to continue like that. The club have also made a big contribution to this,” he added.
