..the new council shifts the focus of national policy toward a family-centered approach..
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government disbursed Rp53.15 trillion (approximately US$2.95 billion) in productive financing to more than 2.1 million grassroots entrepreneurs, farmers, and fishers between August and October 2026, as part of efforts to promote grassroots economic growth.
The financing reached 2,106,401 beneficiaries nationwide through 343 financial institutions, primarily targeting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
President Prabowo Subianto symbolically presented loan agreements representing amounts ranging from Rp5 million to Rp400 million (US$277 to US$22,182) to five recipient representatives during the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) in Jakarta on Thursday.
Prabowo was accompanied at the event by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners Chairperson Friderica Widyasari Dewi.
The disbursement reflects the government's ongoing efforts to expand access to formal financing and stimulate economic activity at the community level.
Earlier in the meeting, Hartarto and Dewi briefed Prabowo on the launch of the National Council for Family Well-Being (DNKK).
Established under Government Regulation No. 42 of 2026, the new body replaces the National Council for Financial Inclusion (DNKI), which had been operating since 2006.
Hartarto said the new council shifts the focus of national policy toward a family-centered approach built on three pillars: household financial well-being, resilience to economic shocks, and long-term financial security.
Prabowo chairs the council, with Hartarto serving as executive chairperson and Dewi as vice chairperson. Bank Indonesia Governor Destry Damayanti and Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara serve as deputy executive chairpersons, alongside several other cabinet ministers.
