Twelve lion cubs have been enjoying the sun at a German zoo with their mothers.

Zuri gave birth to five cubs on July 28, and her sister, Saba, delivered seven cubs on July 31.

The zoo's lion enclosure in Dortmund has since reopened to visitors, who have been delighted by the sight of the cubs.

The cubs have been exploring their surroundings under their mothers' watchful eyes.

In a heartwarming display of family bonding, both lionesses are nursing and caring for all 12 cubs.

They are feeding each other's offspring without making any distinction between their own.
