Revealed: Sam Fender is set to headline Glastonbury Festival next year

The thousands of music fans who have secured coveted tickets to Glastonbury Festival next year face an anxious wait to find out which stars will perform.
But The Mail on Sunday can reveal that one of the headline acts at Worthy Farm in June will be British singer Sam Fender.
The official line-up for those paying at least £400 to attend will not be confirmed until the spring, but Fender is set to headline the festival's main Pyramid Stage.
The Geordie musician, 32, has had a successful year after his song Rein Me In, a duet with Olivia Dean, broke records as the longest-running No 1 single in UK music history, spending a total of 23 weeks at the top of the charts.
A source said: 'Sam is over the moon, it's a major milestone in his career and he's so excited he's even been telling his neighbours.'
The five-time Brit Award winner shares close ties with previous Glastonbury acts such as Dean and his friend Lewis Capaldi, who both played the festival in 2025. The event had one of its regular fallow years this year, to give the Worthy Farm land a chance to recover.

An industry source said: 'Lewis has been gunning for Sam to get the headline slot. He's been bringing Sam on stage at his gigs just to get him more out there and more talked-about.'
Fender previously played the Pyramid Stage in 2022, three years after cancelling a planned appearance at the last minute because of illness.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 – which has a capacity of 210,000 – sold out in just 42 minutes last Sunday, despite no performers being announced.
