US Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and James Lankford (R-OK) have been jointly awarded the Levenson Family Defender of Democracy Award by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in recognition of their sustained, cross-party leadership and efforts to combat the rising tide of antisemitism.

As co-founders and co-chairs of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, the two lawmakers have worked together to advance legislative measures targeting hate and supporting religious freedom.

Their collaborative initiatives include helping elevate the US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism to the rank of Ambassador, leading the reauthorization and passage of the Never Again Education Act, and introducing both the Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons (HEAL) Act and the bipartisan Jewish American Security Act.

Accepting the honor, Senator Rosen emphasized the ongoing commitment required to protect Jewish communities.

“It is truly an honor to receive the Levenson Defender of Democracy award with my good friend and colleague Senator James Lankford,” Rosen stated. “We promise to continue fighting to ensure that Jewish communities everywhere can practice their religion and participate in society without fear.”

'Protecting Jewish Americans is not a partisan issue'

The ADL highlighted the senators' collaborative impact on social media, posting: “Congratulations to our Levenson Family Defender of Democracy Award honorees, Jacky Rosen and James Lankford.

As co-chairs of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, they've proven that protecting Jewish Americans is not a partisan issue. Their partnership gives us hope for the future.”
