There’s a new face in latest Bafana Bafana squad

Translate

Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane has named his 27-man squad for the two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Kenya.

South Africa will host Kenya at Orlando Stadium on Friday, 13 November before visiting the same opponents on Tuesday, 17 November.

Should Bafana Bafana collect six points in those two matches, they would have all but secured their place in next year’s AFCON in East Africa.

Now, Mosimane has trimmed the team to just 27 from the preliminary squad he announced two weeks ago.

BAFANA BAFANA have a new face in Siyanda NDLOVU

Mosimane has kept the core of the team that he previously selected for his first three matches in charges of Bafana Bafana.

He has, however, brought back Mbekezeli Mbokazi to tighten that defence after months on the sidelines due to a thigh injury.

Mbokazi’s return meant one central defender had to be sacrificed, and it is none other Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi.

Furthermore, Mosimane has roped in Mamelodi Sundowns winger Siyanda Ndlovu who earns his first Bafana Bafana call-up.

Ndlovu had been knocking on the Bafana Bafana door since his days at Golden Arrows but it is at Sundowns where he has really been flourishing.

And Mosimane could not overlook him give how he has performed since joining the Brazilians at the start of the season.

The 23-year-old speedy attacker has scored three goals and provided three assists in 15 matches across all competitions for Sundowns.
