Dave Grohl Lives Out Boyhood Dream by Joining AC/DC for “Highway to Hell”

Translate

Dave Grohl lived out a dream more than four decades in the making on Friday night when he joined AC/DC on stage at MetLife Stadium for a performance of “Highway to Hell.”

Grohl’s Foo Fighters served as surprise openers for the evening, marking the second time they’ve filled that role during AC/DC’s “PWR UP” tour. During Foo’s set, Grohl reflected on seeing AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock concert film when he was 11 years old and how the experience changed his life. “At 11 years old, I didn’t know that rock and roll could be like that. I didn’t know that rock and roll was sweat, and blood, and fucking tears, and every ounce of energy you have — Phil Rudd breaking snare drums and Angus sucking oxygen on the side of the stage,” Grohl recalled. “I saw that movie when I was 11 years old, and I was like, ‘I wanna do that for the rest of my fucking life.'”
