MANILA, Philippines – Former speaker Martin Romualdez pleaded not guilty in his P7.44-billion plunder case during his arraignment on Wednesday, September 16.
This means that the case will now move to trial.
Romualdez was allowed to join the arraignment online, but the Sandiganbayan 3rd Division deployed an official to personally read Romualdez the allegations against him.
Select members of the media were also allowed to personally witness the arraignment.
