Neeru Dhanda, Kynan Chenai win trap mixed team gold at Asian Games

NEW DELHI: Neeru Dhanda added another medal to her impressive Asian Games campaign as she teamed up with Kynan Chenai to win the gold medal in the trap mixed event at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday.The Indian pair finished on 34 points to clinch the gold medal.

Qatar won the silver with 32 points, while the People's Republic of China took the bronze with 23 points.For Neeru, it was her third medal at the Asian Games 2026.She had earlier won a silver medal in the women's trap team event before creating history by becoming the first Indian female shooter to win an individual gold medal in trap shooting.Neeru's third medal came alongside Chenai, with the Indian pair producing a strong performance across the four series. India scored 6 points in the first series, 16 in the second, 26 after the third and finished on 34 points.With the gold in the mixed event, Neeru now has a gold and silver in the individual and team events, respectively, besides the mixed team gold.
