Jakarta (ANTARA) - Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin praised a major leadership assembly convened by President Prabowo Subianto as a defining moment to strengthen solidarity and align strategic objectives between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

Addressing 800 high-ranking military and police officers brought in from across the archipelago at the State Palace, President Prabowo used the session to outline the nation’s current geopolitical and security standing as his administration approaches its two-year mark on October 20.

"The President's briefing serves as a crucial moment to align visions, strengthen the solidarity and synergy between the TNI and Polri and coordinate actions in facing the dynamics of the strategic environment and the nation's increasingly complex challenges,” Minister Sjafrie wrote in an official social media statement on Thursday.

Sjafrie emphasized that close operational coordination between the two institutions remains essential for maintaining domestic security and stability, enforcing public order, and safeguarding national sovereignty amid a shifting global landscape.

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto noted that the President's directives came at a critical juncture, providing clear operational guidance as the defense forces adapt to non-traditional and various emerging threats.

"Amid the dynamic strategic environment and increasingly complex challenges—including cyber, information, and hybrid threats—the President's directives will serve as a crucial guide for determining our course of action and policies," General Agus emphasized.

Reaffirming the law enforcement perspective, National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto assured that Polri leadership nationwide is prepared to translate the President's directives into immediate action on the ground.

"The National Police stands ready to continue supporting the government's policies and priority programs," General Suyudi stated, pointing to its core responsibilities in maintaining public order, enforcing the law, and serving the community.

The joint meeting served as a high-level coordination forum, ensuring that military and police leadership operate under a unified national defense and security framework.
