#SHOWBIZ: Azeva turns mum's health scare into fuel

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Azeva has pledged to dedicate herself to the entertainment industry following a severe health crisis that left her mother, producer Datuk A. Aida, fighting for her life last year.

The 25-year-old, whose full name is Azeva Natassha Wan Aminuddin, says the terrifying ordeal was a major turning point, inspiring her to cherish her mother and honour all of her wishes.

Azeva says doctors told her family to prepare for the worst when her mother suffered a stroke.

"They told us there was a 99 per cent chance she wouldn't make it.

"I found myself reflecting on what I have done for her. I prayed, 'Oh God, please return my mother to me. If she wakes up, I promise to do everything she asks of me.'

"When she finally regained consciousness, I was immensely grateful. Now, I genuinely want to fulfil everything she desires."

Speaking at the launch of her latest single, 'Tanpa Rasa Jemu', the daughter of veteran singer Ameng says her mother is not looking for material gifts or luxury.

Instead, she simply wants to see her daughter succeed in her music career.

"I realised during those three days she was in a coma that many people have gone through what I experienced. Once you lose a mother, you carry that regret forever," Azeva says.

"Her recovery feels like the greatest blessing to me. She told me she doesn't need me to buy her luxury handbags. She just wants me to deliver songs and give my all for her."

A. Aida collapsed following a physiotherapy session, just two days after undergoing surgery on both knees.

Despite initially recovering well post-operation, she suddenly lost consciousness during physical therapy.

With her newfound focus on work, Azeva has released 'Tanpa Rasa Jemu', which serves as the soundtrack for her upcoming film, 'Bisikan Nafsu'.

The track was composed by Zul 2by2, Aiman and Madi Mulyadi, with lyrics by A. Aida.
