Yaeji Plots a Dance Dance Revolution in New Single “DDR”

Translate

Yaeji has stepped back up to the plate with a Dance Dance Revolution-themed song—her latest in a string of standalone singles following 2023’s With a Hammer. Out on XL and created alongside Enayet and K Wata, “DDR” comes with a footwork-heavy video directed by Giseong Jun. Watch it below.

Yaeji elaborated on the idea behind the track in the YouTube caption: “i had this thought while out one night in nyc: if our current world is suffocating us then what does the reality we wanna see actually look like? maybe we’re actually experiencing a dance dance ‘revolution.’ the miracle of all our bodies on the dancefloor in the same place at the same time. we’re making sure there’s water and choosing to protect each other so no one’s getting harassed, all while on our own introspective journeys soundtracked by the music. this one is for you. it’s also for me.”

To celebrate the single, Yaeji is hosting an all-night DDR party at Paragon in Brooklyn this Friday, November 6, sharing the bill with DJ Swisha, OSSX, Lil C, and DJ Noir. “DDR,” Yaeji’s first single of 2026, follows last year’s “Pondeggi” and the Underscores and Aliyah’s Interlude collaboration “Booboo2.”
