Cristiano Ronaldo reveals his condition to play for Portugal again

Translate

According to CNN Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the only condition to play for Portugal again as trouble intensifies.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly made his position clear over a possible return to the Portugal national team, with the forward said to be unwilling to come back while Jorge Jesus remains in charge.

According to CNN Portugal journalist Rui Santos, Ronaldo was unhappy with recent comments made by Jesus and has communicated his disappointment to people close to him.

The report, also cited by French outlet Foot Mercato, claims Ronaldo has indicated that he does not intend to return to international duty as long as Jesus continues as Portugal head coach.

The tension is believed to stem from comments made by Jesus about Ronaldo’s place in the national team. While the coach reportedly expressed interest in having the veteran forward back for the UEFA Nations League, he also maintained that Ronaldo did not need to apologise and stressed that squad selection remains entirely his decision.

Ronaldo is said to have viewed those remarks as more than a simple misunderstanding, with the perceived contradiction reportedly contributing to the breakdown in relations between the pair.

As things stand, the 41-year-old’s return to the Portugal setup appears to depend heavily on the future of Jesus, leaving uncertainty over whether Ronaldo will feature for his country again while the current coach remains in charge.
