Three vehicles destroyed in early morning fire at Klang apartment

KLANG: Three vehicles, including a motorcycle, were destroyed in an early morning fire at Block B of Apartment Meru Impian in Kapar, near here, today.

In the 5.07am incident, a Proton Exora multi-purpose vehicle was 80 per cent burnt, a Toyota Vios was 60 per cent damaged, while a Yamaha Avantiz motorcycle was 30 per cent burnt.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said a team from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.

"Firefighters arrived at the scene at 5.11am, about four minutes after receiving the distress call.

"The operation commander reported that the fire involved three vehicles, and firefighters immediately carried out extinguishing operations using a hose reel line connected to the fire engine's water tank," he said in a statement today.

Ashrul Riezal said five firefighters using one fire engine brought the blaze under control by 5.50am, before fully wrapping up the operation at 6.20am.

He said no casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
