‘Anna Pigeon’ Renewed For Season 2 At USA Network

Translate

The news comes ahead of the Season 1 finale, which airs October 9. The series has done well for USA Network so far, becoming the highest-rated original scripted series premiere on the network in nearly eight years, with an average of 2.35 million total viewers within the seven days following the premiere.

Across its Season 1 run, Anna Pigeon has reached 18 million total viewers, USA Network says.

Based on the New York Times best-selling novels by Nevada Barr, the first season follows Anna Pigeon (Tracy Spiridakos), a former city slicker who became a park ranger after a devastating loss changed the trajectory of her life forever. While Anna tries to outrun her demons, her focus turns to solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds, no matter who or what gets in her way. Season 2 promises continued mystery and adventure, as Anna’s story continues to unfold.

Season 1 also stars Paulina Alexis, Ronnie Rowe, Tricia Helfer, Kim Coates, Crystle Lightning, Cooper Levy, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, Ryan Northcott, Nikki Rae Hallow, Jordan Sledz and Melanie Scrofano.

“It’s been really thrilling to see audiences fall in love with Anna and come to the park every week,” showrunner Morwyn Brebner said in a statement. “We’re so grateful to our cast and crew who brought Nevada Barr’s iconic world to life with such heart and passion; we cannot wait to get back outside for season two.”

Adds Michael Sluchan, SVP, Scripted Content, Entertainment, VERSANT: “Anna Pigeon has connected with audiences in a meaningful way, bringing a compelling new heroine and a fresh perspective to USA Network. We’re thrilled to continue Anna’s journey with Tracy, Morwyn, Lea and our incredible partners at Cineflix.”

Anna Pigeon is produced by Cineflix and SEVEN24 Films for USA Network in association with Bell Media. Brebner serves as showrunner, with Lea Thompson directing. Brebner and Thompson executive produce alongside Brett Burlock, Sonia Hosko, Todd Berger, Julie Di Cresce, Tom Cox, Jordy Randall, Peter Emerson and Gordon Gilbertson. Leslie Cowan serves as producer.

Anna Pigeon is Bell Media’s first co-commission with Versant’s USA Network. Cineflix Rights is the exclusive international worldwide distribution partner, excluding the U.S.
