Jose Alvarado recently had a hilarious interaction with his daughters, who just wanted to call their newborn brother after his New York Knicks teammate OG Anunoby.

"That's not his name," Alvarado told one of his daughters, who adorably insisted on calling their brother "OG Anunoby."
The other daughter backed up his sister, telling Alvarado, "That's not fair. Why can't we call him OG Anunoby?"

It seems that Alvarado's daughters have a favorite Knicks player outside of their dad.
And to be fair, Anunoby is indeed one of the most popular guys in New York's fold, especially with how he fared in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, where the Knicks went on a deep run and won the 2026 NBA Finals to end the city's 53-year title drought.

There must be at least a few babies named after OG Anunoby after he made one of the most famous plays in NBA Finals history. That was when he scored on a tip-in with just 1.2 seconds left in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

His bucket gave the Knicks a 107-106 win and, more importantly, a 3-1 series lead. Of course, it needs to be mentioned that the tip-in capped New York's incredible comeback from 29 points down in that game
Alvarado also played a part in the Knicks' success against the Spurs. In that five-game series, he averaged 4.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists, while providing New York a spark off the bench. He was traded by the New Orleans Pelicans to New York in February and signed a three-year, $14.38 million contract extension with the Knicks in July.
