Mihlali responds to Wicknell Chivayo romance rumours

Mihlali Ndimase has hit back at rumours romantically linking her to Wicknell Chivayo. The Zimbabwean businessman and his wife, Lucy,  died in a fatal helicopter crash near Harare on Wednesday, 30 September.

The flamboyant tenderpreneur was known for his lucrative business interests and contracts in energy, infrastructure and public-sector projects as well as his close ties with African presidents and leaders. He maintained that all his business dealings were above board.

MIHLALI NDAMASE CLAPS BACK AT WICKNELL CHIVAYO ROMANCE RUMOURS

On her Instagram Stories, Mihlali Ndamase responded to rumours linking her to Wicknell Chivayo in the wake of his death. She also distanced herself from claims that she had once dated socialite and millionaire Genius Kadungure, popularly known as Ginimbi, who died in a car crash in 2020.

The 29-year-old labelled the reports “pathetic”, accusing bloggers – particularly Musa Khawula – of spreading a “false narrative” about her.

She shared: “Stop lying on my name… I have no problem with being spoken about, criticised or misunderstood, but I will not sit quietly while false statements are presented as facts and my name is attached to things/people I have never engaged with, let alone even met.

“If you have something to say about me, have the courage to say what is true. Don’t fabricate stories, twist situations or use my name to create a narrative that suits you

“I know who I am, I know what I have done, and, most importantly, I know what I haven’t done. I will always choose to protect my peace over entertaining every rumour, but protecting my peace does not mean allowing people to rewrite my character”.

She added: “I’ve NEVER dated Wicknell nor have I met him, and I’ve also NEVER dated Ginimbi. I don’t understand why some of you are so quick to run with narratives created by that imbecile [Musa Khawula] on Twitter, knowing very well he only uses my name for relevance”.

‘PATHETIC STORY’

In 2024, Wicknell Chivayo responded to rumours he was dating Mihlali Ndamase. At the time, he was in the midst of a high profile divorce from his first wife, Sonja, the mother of his two children.

In an Instagram post, Wicknell labelled the rumours “ridiculous and laughable”.

He shared: “Let me categorically state that I do not know either of these ladies personally or through any of my business associates. 

Wicknell blamed the “baseless falsehood” on an X blogger, accusing them of being “jealous” of his purchase of a  2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre.

He added: “He found an opportunity to find relevance by fabricating a pathetic story out of desperation for online attention.”
