Jodie’s efforts appear to have paid off when David offloads to her about his frustrations with Shona, admitting he doesn’t want the marriage anymore. When David hints he has feelings for her, Jodie finally sees an opportunity to make her move – as seen in the scene above.
But is everything as it seems, or has David finally got wise and is playing Jodie to get her to confess to her increasing catalogue of lies?
Jodie has been manipulating the Platts for weeks in an increasingly sinister bid to take over Shona’s life.
Her scheming has included filling a baby bath with boiling water to trick David into thinking that Shona was close to putting baby Harper’s life at risk. She has also been secretly playing a recording of Harper crying, causing an exhausted Shona to grow increasingly paranoid and question her own mental health.
Meanwhile, Jodie has been working to make herself indispensable to David and the rest of the family, while attempting to push Shona further out.

Her dad Doug has proved one of the biggest threats to her plan after becoming suspicious of her behaviour and warning Shona not to trust her.
After Doug caught Jodie getting close to David, she falsely claimed that the pair were already having an affair and planned to leave Shona.
When Doug threatened to expose her, Jodie went to shocking lengths to silence him by tampering with his bipolar medication and making it appear that his mental health was deteriorating.
Her plan ultimately resulted in Doug being taken away for treatment, but not before he desperately tried to warn Shona about her sister.
Jodie has also shown just how determined she is to replace Shona, even secretly trying on her sister’s wedding dress while clutching a bouquet of flowers.
Now, with David seemingly admitting that his marriage is over and suggesting he has feelings for her, Jodie believes everything she has been working towards is finally within reach.
But with her lies beginning to unravel, has Jodie fallen straight into a trap? And if so, will David finally get the confession he needs?
