Melaka polls: PH banks on multiracial representation, candidate integrity – Anwar

Translate

MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan is banking on its multiracial representation and the integrity of its candidates as key strengths in the Melaka election, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

Anwar, who is also PH chairman, said that amid what he described as racial sentiments posing a challenge in the state's political contest, PH had chosen to embrace the strengths of the Malay, Chinese and Indian communities by fielding capable, clean and trustworthy candidates to represent the people and help develop Melaka.

"With humility and a deep sense of responsibility, I appeal to the people of Melaka to place their trust in the Harapan team, which offers hard work, leadership with integrity and a proven track record in championing the people's interests and developing the state," he said in a post on X today.

He also expressed hope that voters would make their choices wisely and prayed that PH would be given the strength to continue serving the community.

The election on Nov 14 will see 79 candidates vying for 28 state assembly seats, with PH fielding 24 candidates.
