A classic children's tale is getting a dark twist.
Deadline reports that a Mary Poppins television show is in the works. However, rather than the lighthearted version played by Emily Blunt and Julie Andrews, the planned TV show will move closer to the version that's depicted in the novels: darker, more mysterious, even magical and occasionally frightening.
