Alanis Morissette Made a Holiday Album

You, you, you oughta snow. Since 2020, Alanis Morisette has made a habit of popping up during the holiday season to cover a classic Christmas song. Now the Canadian singer has gathered those renditions, plus a bunch more covers and two original songs into Good Weather for Immaculate Conception—a title only she could have come up with. Out November 6 via Virgin’s Epiphany imprint, the album boasts a wide-ranging (read: totally random) guestlist that somehow includes Martin Short alongside the likes of Amythyst Kiah and Joy Oladokun. To further prove my point, scroll down to Morissette’s new cover of “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem,” featuring both Brandi Carlile and Steve Martin.
Morissette shared her last studio LP, Such Pretty Forks in the Road, in 2020. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at the very start of the year, and recently made a surprise appearance at Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival, joining Rodrigo onstage during her set to duet on “Ironic.”
