Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda will stay on as the agency’s chief, according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Wednesday.

In a video report from Jonathan Andal, Castro addressed rumors that Aguda has resigned.

Citing Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dave Gomez, Castro said that the Palace has received no such information. She also read a statement from Aguda.

“I am aware of the reports circulating regarding my position as Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology. At this time, I remain focused on carrying out my responsibilities and ensuring the continuity of the Department’s work,” Aguda said in his statement.

“As Secretary of DICT, I serve at the pleasure of the President, and I fully recognize and respect the President’s prerogative in matters concerning his Cabinet and his administration. My focus remains on carrying out my responsibilities and serving the Filipino people to the best of my ability,” he added.

Aguda began his stint as the DICT secretary in March 2025, replacing Ivan Uy. —VAL, GMA News
