Kamal Haasan congratulates 'Amaran' director Rajkumar Periasamy

Director Rajkumar Periasamy has added a major honour to his filmography after winning the National Award for Best Direction for 'Amaran'. The filmmaker received the prestigious honour at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, where President Droupadi Murmu presented the award on September 22.

'Amaran' also earned a National Award for Best Music Direction for G V Prakash Kumar’s background score.

Excellent work and a well-earned National Honour.”The recognition holds particular significance for Kamal Haasan, as 'Amaran' was backed by his production house, Raaj Kamal Films International.

The film went on to become a major theatrical success following its release in October 2024.Rajkumar Periasamy has also recalled Kamal Haasan’s reaction to the National Award announcement, revealing that the actor personally called him to express his happiness over the honour.
