Coronation Street reveals Bethany's latest baby lies in early ITVX episode

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Sunday's episode (25 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

Coronation Street's Bethany Platt is left mortified tonight as her complex web of lies continues to grow.

When Bethany's new love interest Ryan Connor discovers that she's pregnant, she tells him a different story from the one she's given her mum.

Viewers know that Bethany is expecting Kit Green's baby following a scandalous one-night stand. Not wanting to 'fess up about sleeping with her mother's ex, Bethany has let Sarah believe that Ryan is the father.

In tonight's episode, though, Bethany chooses not to repeat this lie when Ryan discovers that she's pregnant. The big moment comes when Ryan visits her and spots folic acid pills that have fallen out of her bag.

Bethany tells Ryan that she's expecting a baby following a mystery one-night stand – but is keeping the father out of the picture. Ryan assures her that, whatever happens, she'll make a great mum.

Although grateful for Ryan's support, Bethany is irritated when she finds out that Sarah was the one who sparked this awkwardness by asking him to come and see her.

Later, Bethany rebukes Sarah for meddling in her life. Sarah wants to know why she hasn't told Ryan that the baby is his, still unaware that it's all a lie! Thinking on her feet, Bethany claims that she doesn't want him to feel trapped into a permanent relationship with her...

With Bethany still keeping quiet about Kit, it's clearly getting trickier for her to keep track of her lies and what she's told each person! Is this all going to blow up in her face?

Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, recently explained: "She genuinely really likes [Ryan] and he genuinely really likes her too. They've got a bit of shared history as well from when they were together before, but obviously this is going to throw a massive spanner in the works.

"If she chooses to go through with the termination, that will make things easier for their relationship. But if she chooses to keep the baby, that's going to complicate the whole situation because is Ryan going to want to be with her if she's going to be having someone else's baby, when they're so early on in their relationship?"

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
